About Me
Hi, I'm Erica — the person behind Sit Pretty K9.

I didn't get into dog training because I wanted dogs to be more obedient. I got into it because I kept seeing dogs struggle when their needs weren't understood — and humans feeling frustrated, confused, or disconnected as a result.
Over time, I learned that behavior is rarely the real issue. Dogs do well when they have clear communication, appropriate outlets, and guidance they can trust. When those pieces are missing, dogs do their best to cope — and that's often what we label as "problem behavior."
At Sit Pretty K9, my work centers on helping dogs feel fulfilled and understood, and helping humans learn how to give clear signals, structure, and opportunities in everyday life. Training happens in real environments, with real routines, because that's where change actually sticks.

I believe dogs thrive when we stop asking them to fit into our lives without support — and instead show them how to succeed within it. When dogs' needs are met and communication is clear, behavior follows naturally, and the relationship becomes calmer, more cooperative, and more enjoyable for everyone involved.
